Autumn is approaching...

We hope you have all had a good summer despite the rain.

Please be aware that there are building works currently taking place at the Dorking Halls,  Unfortunately, the main worksite is situated in the area adjacent to our showroom and whilst they do their best not to block our entrance, it is occasionally unavoidable.  We would ask our customers to please be patient with this.  Our opening hours remain the same but if you are collecting or delivering large items, we would recommend calling us in advance so we can ensure there is access available.

So far, this year has been very busy for us and we definitely appreciated the less hectic month of August to take a breather.  We have had a huge amount of items brought into us over the summer for potential sale but have had to turn a substantial number away that, due to the lack of demand, are not selling at Auction. We will always accept silver, jewellery, collectibles and good quality items however, to avoid wasting your time, we would ask you to email photographs for valuation.  For examples, tea services, dinner services (e.g. place settings of 4, 6, 8 and 12) and glasses should be complete sets and in good condition.  Whilst we appreciate these would have been expensive to purchase, there is no long a demand for these items and this is reflected in the estimates given.

As a reminder, please be aware that there is a £6 minimum fee applied to our main Auction for each Lot.

  • 15% (plus VAT) commission up to £2000 and 10% thereafter with a £6.00 minimum fee
  • 1% (plus VAT) insurance
  • £2.00 photograph fee for items under £55.000 and £5.00 for items over £55.00

As always, thank you for your continued custom - we have some superb Lots coming up in our Auctions which will make fabulous Christmas presents (Did I just say that!!!)
